About this collection
Our cast iron teapots are hand-cast in Iwate prefecture, Japan — a region with a 400-year tradition of iron-craft. Each pot is sand-cast from a single mould, finished by hand, then tested for water-tightness before it ships from our London warehouse.
The thermal mass of cast iron keeps tea at a stable temperature for a full minute longer than ceramic — which lets lighter oolongs and green teas unfurl without bitterness. The enamel interior prevents rust and means the pot needs no seasoning before first use.
